I'd rather it be a totally neutral organization, perhaps not a news company at all. Where is it written that the debates have to be hosted by a news company?

If it just has to be a news company, I'd be in favor of NPR or even Al Jazeera, but not a news company obviously favoring either candidate.

Agreed. NPR or Al Jazeera would be better choices.

The border and foreign policy imho are Trumps strengths.
Every single world leader, including Kim Jun Il and Putin, see Trump as the total idiot that he is. He's been the total laughing stock of our enemies, our allies, and even our own Generals since he first took stage and they're just as dumb-founded as the majority of Americans are as to how he was ever elected U.S. President. This includes the President of Mexico who's still laughing about Trumps repeated assertion that Mexico would pay for his delusional border wall... which of course never got built.

He's got the intelligence of a janitor from Alabama...the morals of Hannibal Lecter, and the reasoning power of a nine year old with ADHD.

And these are his strengths...

Four years ago on this very forum (and Sawatdee) I predicted the outcome of the last election - stating numerous times that Biden would win a decisive victory over Trump...Trump would create as much chaos as possible in the aftermath calling everything "fake", and then continue to divide the nation using his new social media platform and MAGA influence out of revenge in true narcissistic fashion. We all saw the results.

So here's my prediction for 2024:
Harris will win a decisive victory over Trump...Trump will create as much chaos as possible in the aftermath calling everything "fake", and then continue to divide the nation using his social media platform and MAGA influence in true narcissistic fashion, Sound familiar?

I don't see a "Blue Wave", but a "Red, White & Blue Wave" that will put Harris in the Oval Office. White being the undecided who, up until voting time, have not been totally visible in the polls, as well as a larger contribution from the Red side of the isle by Republicans who simply want to protect U.S. democracy and detest Trump. I can see many of the White and Red votes being AGAINST Trump more than FOR Harris but the end result will be as predicted IMO.

I'm sure we'll see more chaos and even more violence than the last time Trump was defeated, but I also feel confident that after nearly four years of high-level planning/preparation the current administration, along with the State Dept., Dept of Homeland Security, CIA, FBI, and U.S. Military, etc., has all the pieces positioned on the board where they need to be to contain the situation with minimal arrests and/or causalities.

Trump, who's nearing 80 years old and imploding on himself will be finished. If he spends time in prison when this thing is all over remains to be seen.

That's my two cents. Now I'll remain silent until after the election exactly as I did last time.

Go Harris!

Hoping you’re wrong. It’s quite possible with the media giving all their support to Harris that many are fooled into thinking that she’s a good choice.

She didn’t answer any questions during her Fox interview, just spewing hatred of Trump. What a disaster she will be if she wins.

Normally the Republicans would win in a landslide with the problems the USA is now facing. The economy, lawless border, and foreign policy mess. It should be similar to Reagan routing Mondale in 84. But the dislike for Trump is real. So it might be close.

I don’t see how hiding a cognitive mess like Biden has been for the last four years is very democratic. Staying in power is all they care about, not the citizenry.

Trump will lose but he and his asshole supporters won’t go down without causing as much havoc as possible.

I too hope Kamala Harris wins the election. If she wins, Trump can go into a stomp his feet tantrum all he wants, but Harris will be the next president.

I've said it before - I do agree with Trump about illegal aliens. I do believe that those who managed to enter the USA illegally have no right to be there and should be deported, just like any other country, including Thailand, does when people in the country illegally are caught.

Other than that, I don't agree with anything else Trump says. Sorry Rocket, but I don't think some kind of nut should be president or hold any other political position. Too many nuts already are in political positions. Even if you are correct that a Harris presidency would be a disaster, I think a Trump presidency would be an exponentially greater disaster.

I wish that were true.
In particular, I wish the UK would deport every single one of the middle easterners who arrive here illegally. Preferably give them a very uncomfortable time in the process too, so there is a suitable deterrent.

However, what you have is the open borders of the EU. All the countries in southern Europe don't need to bother too much policing the borders, as the illegal immigrants move on to richer countries.
Then, despite already being in wealthy countries, some of them are prepared to risk their lives crossing the channel from the EU to the UK.
Then the EU countries don't agree to accept these people back from the UK. So deportation is not easy.
We are clearly far too nice if they are prepared to risk their lives crossing from France to the UK on boats.

Our previous government had the enlightened idea to ship all the refugees off to Rwanda whilst their applications are being processed. However, that never got past all the legal challenges.

Incidentally, this is one reason why the AFD have gained popularity in parts of Germany.
If we had a PR electoral system in the UK, I'm fairly sure such parties would make strong gains here too. Including amongst educated people who have had enough of rampant illegal immigration.

I think the US is relatively fortunate, in having a problem with Latin American migrants, rather than the type Europe has.
