Meanwhile, now Iran is in the process of closing the Straits of Hormuz, one of the world's most important petroleum shipping waterways.

I haven't seen reports of any action on that. However, if they do it, they're going to annoy the neighbouring countries even more and that may provoke a response.

I've seen several like this. Apparently so far it's a threat, but nothing happened yet. Maybe it's just bluster. We'll know soon enough.

I was totally impressed with both General Caine and Marco Rubio's interviews/presentations.

I'd feel a lot more confident if Rubio was President and Caine the Secretary of Defense.

I never liked Rubio when he was a senator from Florida and I doubt I'd like him as President, but I am rather impressed with the job he is doing as Secretary of State. As far as I'm concerned, he finally found the right job. I hope he doesn't eventually end up like so many others who got involved with Trump - fired . . .

By the way, I absolutely believe him when he says that publicly many world leaders condemn the bombing, but privately they tell him they're all for it.

Giving credit where it is due, Trump's handling of the Israel-Iran war is the first time I've ever seen him acting in the way I would expect and hope of a President. If his announced ceasefire between Israel and Iran holds, a ceasefire he brokered, in my opinion Trump is to be congratulated.

I had the same thoughts when I got up this morning and read the news.

What's concerning is that Trump lies so much that you never know what to believe.

Anyway, a truce would be the best outcome as long as Iran agrees to "zero uranium enrichment", but that still remains a long shot.

I have to believe that Netanyahu isn't happy with this direction, because all he wants is total destruction of Iran - similar to what he's trying to achieve in Gaza. Maybe trump made an agreement with him before the strike - that if the U.S. destroys the nuclear facilities - Israel would then have to agree to a ceasefire. Who knows?

But, to your point, if this comes to a peaceful solution - AND the nuclear facilities have REALLY been demolished as Trump has claimed, then he deserves credit.

I also believe if the ceasefire doesn't work and if it is Iran that breaks it, Trump will be all-in as far as military is concerned. I think the only real chance this has is if Iran was frightened enough to do Trump's bidding.

If nothing else is clear, Iran has learned they are not going to be able to just walk all over Israel.

Does the ceasefire include all the troublemakers backed by Iran, such as the Houthis who have stopped shipping using the Suez canal ? And various others in the region. If not, Iran can just carry on attacking other countries, indirectly.

I'm sticking with my earlier prediction - that Trump wants an immediate exit.

If there is a truce and Iran violates it I believe Netanyahu will find himself squarely under a bus - while Trump quietly slips behind the curtain.

An exception to this would be if Iran attacks another U.S. base - as hard as that is to imagine.
