I wasn't interpreting those terms the way you do and I for sure was not thinking about surgery. I was thinking about overtreatment as being overly cautious and undertreatment as not doing enough to take care of the problem, whatever it is.

Re: Need to get some stitches removed
It became obvious that I needed to take the advice of the first doctor I saw at the Memorial Hospital and see their specialist.
He was excellent and sorted things out and prescribed some medication.
860 Baht including the prescription which I thought was very reasonable.
My boyfriend who accompanied me thought it expensive but he thinks everything in Pattaya is (he does have some justification).
He did admit though the hospital had been very good.

I agree.
Incidentally, after seeing a "free" taxation funded UK NHS doctor, most people pay a prescription charge of £9.90 or 427 baht.

Prescriptions are free in the UK for a large number of people, over 65, (or maybe 60) on benefits, children etc. Don't know figures but suspect at least 50% are free.

You're right. I didn't realise so many people were exempt. It would cost me 427 baht.KeithAmbrose wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 11:45 am Prescriptions are free in the UK for a large number of people, over 65, (or maybe 60) on benefits, children etc. Don't know figures but suspect at least 50% are free.
