Getting there. I'm nearly ok, but still have a couple hospital visits to go. Right now my biggest problem is I'm still on a catheter, which I hope can be removed (and stay removed) Monday. What happened was a week ago the catheter was removed at 9:00am, but by 7:00pm I was still unable to pee. So, it was back to the emergency room. Fortunately, my urologist happened to be there just by chance. He re-inserted a catheter, prescribed medication to deal with the problem, and if all goes well that problem will be over Monday and I will be fine once again.

Also a reminder: I was in the hospital this morning for a follow-up appointment and the doctor suggested getting the flu shot. I hadn't even thought about it so far this year, so as long as I was there I got the injection. Bangkok-Pattaya Hospital charges 1900 baht for it. You might want to shop around for a better price, but don't forget to at least get it even if you have to open your wallet.

Didn't he also suggest a covid shot ?

In many western countries, people of a certain age get a booster shot every 6 months. From checks on what my mother is getting, that's an updated version of the vaccine every time, just like the flu jabs.

Yes he did, but I decided to wait a bit before getting it.

Today is Monday and all did go well. I'm doing very good now. In two weeks I'll see the doctor one more time for a follow-up, but there should be no further problems.

I'm glad this ordeal is over. I hope it will be a loooooong time before the inevitable next one . . .

I was also recommended an RSV shot. I can't pronounce the middle word, but it protects against various respiratory viruses. Strang, in UK, only given to children, pregnant women, or those between 75 and 80. Guess which category I am in! Said to be a useful vaccine.
