If their new automated system isn't working, the question is why didn't they go back to the manual system until they could fix the problem? I suppose it's easier to just once again inconvenience every person who has to submit 90-day address reports.

I didn't know they had switched to an automatic system until your post. The system they had in place was working perfectly. What's that old saying? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". But somebody decided to "fix it" anyway and change how the system works, put a new system in place obviously before fully testing it, finding and fixing any bugs.

I'm surprised nothing about this appears in any of the English language news media. It would be nice to be kept informed of the situation and any progress in fixing it, which I think is a hell of a lot more important than an article about some guy playing a lute on Pattaya Beach Road (and I'm not making that up - https://thepattayanews.com/2024/08/02/i ... n-pattaya/ )

One would hope all the people who formerly manually approved these were fired or redeployed ? That's how productivity improvements are supposed to work, although in many parts of the world, it seems the public sector doesn't care about efficiency.

Just as much as they don't care about reliability.
Have you ever got to the checkout page on Amazon and found it fails ? Absolutely NEVER in my experience.

Since the 90 day report is a load of BS, it should not be difficult to write some code where if the full check process is systematically failing, it automatically approves the submission without checks.

I agree. I still have no idea what purpose it serves. At least with the TM-30 you only need to file a new one if your address changes.

I can certainly understand why immigration wants to keep track of foreigner whereabouts, but the way they do it has more flaws than Carter's has liver pills. With the 90-day address report it is far too easy to just lie about your address. From among the required documents, not one includes anything to show evidence of the veracity of your address. While I'm sure the vast majority of people are honest about their address, I fail to see the point of reporting the same address every 90 days.

As I wrote last Wednesday, my 90 days came up on Sunday. I filed online on Friday and just received my approval in the last hour. No problems. I guess someone must have fixed the glitch, that's all I can say. Good luck to anyone else filing on line. Hope you all get approved too.

My last 90 day report was at Immigration (previous one was online). I used VIP Visa on Jomtien 2 Road near intersection with Boon Kanchana road as it was due when I received my new USA passport and needed the stamps transferred. My due date for next 90 day report is 10 August. Their fee for transfer was 500 baht and 200 for the 90 day report. I have moved to a new residence since then and used them to do the TM30 report - fee was 500 baht.

Yesterday morning I logged in to the online system and entered my new passport number and new address. With fingers crossed I hit the submit button and it was successful, receiving the first page of TM47 by email. With fingers crossed again, I waited for either the approved form or the dreaded rejection notice.

This morning I received the approved portion of the TM47 by email - success!! So, hopefully those that rec'd a rejection notice and to go to Immigration to file their report will be able to file online in the future without being again rejected.

Thank you 2lz2p. So far the only board member reporting getting rejected is ME! I too hope it won't happen to anyone else and for sure I hope it won't happen to me again.

Here is the latest on my 90-day address report saga. Last year when I got my new passport via Key Visa, they took care of submitting my new passport and 90-day address report at immigration. Then, when it was time to submit the next 90-day address report I submitted with immigration's online system, with my new passport number and it was accepted.

No problem, or so I thought - because after that the next two 90-day address reports that I submitted online were rejected, which meant a trip to immigration to submit the report. If you have to submit a 90-day address report at immigration, I suggest getting there no later than 8:10am unless you want to wait in long lines. And you better have all the paperwork with you - each page signed. Even then, when they start taking passports and paperwork for approval, you're still looking at between 20 minutes to a half hour before you get your passport back.

Just the other day came time to submit my next 90-day address report. I assumed I would be making another trip to immigration, but I tried the online system anyway. Lo and behold, to my surprise this time it was approved. Great! No more trips to immigration - assuming I won't get rejected again.

In my opinion, the major flaw with the online reporting system is if your application is rejected, they don't tell you why it was rejected. I have no idea why two previous applications were rejected while this latest one was approved. All three are word-for-word exactly the same. So, what was the problem?

When I had to physically go to immigration, I tried to ask why my reports have been getting rejected, but all I got was annoyed, gruff responses that told me nothing.

"I am not accustomed to unfriendliness. Quite frankly I really was not prepared for it."

My guess is that there wasn't any problem at all with your applications - it's because their app is just screwed up.

I've never once even attempted to use their reporting app for this very reason and just bite-the-bullet and make the visit every 90 days. Why do something that I know is going to cause me aggravation?

I just arrive early (8:00 AM)...just a few people in line at that time...and usually complete the process in around 45 minutes.

I'm retired...no schedules or deadlines to contend with...my time is my own...so no problem whatsoever.
