Great to hear that you are not seriously injured and escaped relatively intact!
I hate that drive between Bangkok and Pattaya - it's always scary.
I would never drive a car on the highway without an airbag, as that steering wheel can do tremendous damage.

And indeed Princess Diana - although I cannot see anyone comparing her to General Patton or indeed your good self.

That's a challenge....fountainhall wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2019 10:14 pm I cannot see anyone comparing her to General Patton or indeed your good self.
Well we have a distinguished WW2 commander & a distinguished board owner, also known for decisiveness.
The third one lived a life of privilege at the taxpayers expense and I remember the obscene fuss when she died. Well over the top.
Only one of the 3 was smart enough to wear a seatbelt.

GB...Welcomed news of your survival. Thankfully you received good care by First Responders, police, ambulance and hospitals.
It was a wise decision to followup at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. And likewise Kudos for your choice years ago of Cigna heath insurance. They are serving you well.
Take good care of yourself.
Special thanks to your friends for stepping up to assist you now and in your recovery.

I thank all of you for your comments. I very much appreciate it and it really does help trying to get through this.
Fortunately for me, I do have several people helping me, and even more people offering to help.
I even have help trying to take care of my dog - I can hardly move.
I'm having a lot of pain, that's for sure, but I'm glad I'm alive to feel it.
Every time I look at the photos of the crash I'm surprised I'm still here. Maybe I'm just not so easy to kill . . .

Gaybutton,
I am so sorry to hear about your accident!
I wish you the best during your recovery.
Your accident has important lessons for all of us:
1. Have good health insurance.
2. Always get a second/third opinion when dealing with serious medical problems.
3. Always wear a seat belt and have functioning air bags in your car.
4. Remember the importance of friends. They are needed when life hits you in the head with a brick--or your car gets smashed by a truck.
And thanks for all that you do for this forum!
