HSBC analyst David Bloom and his team believe the pound will fall to just $1.10 with the US dollar by the end of 2017. If they're right, we could see the pound at 1.38 to the Baht.

So, they've never wanted the Euro, but soon 1 GBP might equal 1 EUR. Oh the irony...

Still, every cloud has a silver lining. One year ago, the FTSE 100 stood at 5’500. Today, thanks to a weak pound, the FTSE 100 stands at 7’000.

A good proportion of the Euro zone has suffered due to firstly inappropriate interest rates, then not having the ability for the exchange rate to correct to reflect economic circumstances (e.g. loss of competitiveness in some southern European countries).
The Euro cannot possibly last as it is currently configured. It may go another 5 years, maybe 20, but certainly not a thousand years.
Why would the UK ever want that ? Currently we have a currency which has been around for over a thousand years & is floating exactly as it should.

Also, most of the Eastern European countries which are in theory committed to joining the Euro are in practice trying to put off joining for ever.

Serves the British right, they wanted to leave and now you can see where they are heading..........and mind you they have not even left the EU yet. They are in for a shock when they realize that you can not both have and eat the cake at the same time. If they want full unrestricted access to the common market they will have to accept free movement of labor. Something they thought they would be able to control. God save the Queen and the Queers.

I'm not sure if most Brits would agree that their currency is tanking "exactly as it should", but that said, I agree with what you've written about the Euro zone.

And so does Nobel laureate Stiglitz, whose reasoning sounds that similar to yours that you might want to sue him for stealing your thoughts. ;)
