This latest fiasco being the way she has dealt with her current health issue may mark her end.

Here's an interesting thought. Maybe!

Just as intellectual exercise: Take any specific polled 'issue' in the USA where either of the two opposite possibles can be said to appeal to, (1) 'mildly social conservatives/liberals/Democrats/progressives/higher educated/ non-right wing Libertarians' on the one hand, and (2) on the other hand 'hard conservative/right wing/fundamentalist/low education/nationalist'/right wing Libertarians.
Given the two highly opposed factions on such an issue then it might reasonably be inferred that those in camp (1) are very likely going to vote for Hillary Clinton for President. In camp (2) the opposite would happen, i.e. that group would most probably vote for Donald Trump.

So, what might be a compelling and reasonable issue to put forward which would serve as a stark indication, when polled, which would indicate it's followers to be totally divided along ideological lines?

How about: Gay Marriage?

Would the results not show a line in the sand between 'for gay marriage', and 'against gay marriage'. And to take the thought a step further ... would a poll like that ~ starkly opposed as it is ~ indicate a Hillary Clinton much further along the winning road than Donald Trump is.

In fact, the results of such a poll are right here ... taken in May 2016: The country as a whole polled 57% in favour of gay marriage, and 35% against gay marriage. http://www.pewforum.org/2016/05/12/chan ... -marriage/

Those results are miles apart these days, both in the ideological world as well as the political party world, Maybe Donald is putting all his eggs in the far right wing basket to his (hopeful) detriment.

Do you have a reason for that - I mean a reason that would actually make sense?

As for Hillary's health, people do get sick once in awhile, even presidents and candidates. Eisenhower had a heart attack while in office. JFK suffered with a bad back and Addison's Disease while in office. Reagan was shot while in office. Lyndon Johnson had an operation while in office. Nixon was hospitalized with phlebitis while in office. George Bush Sr. vomited on a Japanese official while in office. Gerald Ford slipped and fell a few times while in office.

As far as I can tell from your posts, you don't want anyone to be president. What do you want? When Obama leaves office, just have nobody as president?

You know, I was afraid of that: somebody would come along and accuse me of re-skirmishing gay marriage rights.
You couldn't be more wrong.

I'll try and make it simple for you. I used the issue of 'gay marriage' as the most divisive-by-ideology to extrapolate from the poll that Hillary could well be much further ahead in terms of liberal/conservative voting patterns. The 'issue' I used seemed to me to be the most obvious carrier of sharp difference. I suppose the 'issue' could easily have been something else (e.g. universal vaccinations for school kids. The Twin Towers were brought down by the CIA).
Read more carefully please. After all, I'm sure you agree, talk is cheap.

My position is one of disappointment, disgust, and amazement that a great nation has such non-great candidates for the office of President....therefore I will not vote and simply "go with the flow" and continue being glad I am an EXPAT.
