SARAS

Saras Vegetarian Restaurant – Sun City – Pattaya
Had a very disappointing dinner there.
First off, the restaurant is vast, sparse, very brightly lit and very unappealing ambiance-wise, more like a staff canteen than a restaurant.
There was a party with about 12 kids who turned the echo-friendly space into something resembling a kid’s swimming pool noise-wise.
The menu is vast with no description whatsoever and unless one goes with an Indian friend forget it – Come to that, forget it anyhow, the food is uninspiring, my friend asked for ‘Not Spicy’ - keep dreaming! ‘Fast Service’ is advertised which is a laugh, and to cap it all one cannot even have a few beers or a bottle of wine or two while waiting for the food!
A very uninspiring meal in uninspiring surroundings which was bad value for money meant the whole experience was not what the glowing write-ups led me to expect.

Where are these write-ups? This is the first time I've even heard of Saras.

Rick has made two posts since he joined, both not positive. It would be interesting to know what restaurants he believes his are worthy of his presence.

He's entitled to his opinion like anyone else, but yes, I too would like to see posts about restaurants he does truly like in Pattaya or anywhere else in Thailand for that matter. I don't avoid restaurants because someone else didn't like it - unless it's someone I know personally and know shares the same taste in restaurants and food as my own. But when someone recommends a restaurant, if it's one I have not tried myself, I usually want to go.
