Thank you for your kind words. I imagine many of us would have done the same if confronted with the same situation and emergency.
My knowledge of the hospitals around here is minimal. Why is Chonburi not a good sign?
Once again please consider dropping in to 69 Bar, buy a drink and tip a guy, a few of the staff helping out with this have missed days of work (and pay) and a friendly hello would be a welcome distraction I'm sure.

Re: Boys
Chonburi State Hospital is considered by many Thais to be a place where patients are sent who are in very critical condition...where surgical procedures are performed at a minimum - as the the primary focus is on hospice treatment (pain killers) to keep those in critical condition as comfortable as possible.
I've had to say goodbye to 2 close Thai friends, as well as a Thai I was married to who were all sent to Chonburi as the final stop in their journeys and have some very dark memories of what I witnessed in that hospital. I'd rather not go into great detail about that now - but can only hope that the boy you know can somehow pull through this. Again, having his family near him right now is a blessing.
Re: Boys
I'm told he's now in a Bangkok hospital still on ventilation, but expected to to make a slow (a month or more), but full recovery. It's difficult to verify the accuracy of this. Quite remarkable given that the for the first week in chonburi they gave him a 50% chance of survival
Re: Boys
It seems someone is visiting Singapore.
I remember a Lao lad telling me about his trip there.
Firstly, he went with a Lao friend, but the friend couldn't speak enough English to bluff his way through immigration at the airport & was denied entry.
Secondly, he was very impressed with the level of tips. No surprises there.

Re: Boys
From what I could gather, the guy at the bar made it sound like he had an incurable staff infection. But something was lost in translation for sure. I hope he recovers.someone wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 2:24 pm I'm told he's now in a Bangkok hospital still on ventilation, but expected to to make a slow (a month or more), but full recovery. Re: Boys
I read that as "a Bangkok hospital", rather than Bangkok Hospital".
However, I still wonder how they fund this.
Among the other unknowns are his name and precisely what's wrong with him.
I'd prefer to know his name, just in case one of the boys I know has moved to that bar & is the poor lad affected. But, if they want privacy, they are entitled to it.
Above all else, I hope he makes a swift and complete recovery.

That's great news. Getting him out of Chonburi may result in being a life-saver.someone wrote: ↑Sat Nov 09, 2024 2:24 pm I'm told he's now in a Bangkok hospital still on ventilation, but expected to to make a slow (a month or more), but full recovery. Life as a "working boy" is hard enough with plenty of risks - but those risks are amplified a hundred times over for the immigrant sex workers, especially when they have medical emergencies like this. All too often the farang punters who enjoyed their services get amnesia when they get in trouble. Go figure!
Kudo's again to you and the others who are supporting this boy.
