UK State Pensions
A leading think tank has suggested the UK State Pension could be means tested in the future with the figure of £1 million in the arena, that means anyone with assets over that amount, I suspect the pension will be tapered. Be interesting to see if a political party could manage to get that through parliament, it would be political suicide for the party, and the grey vote will see to that. I always offer a solution though, the state pension and the NHS should be taken out of the political arena and a wealth fund created like Norway.
Re: UK State Pensions
I assume that will happen before I'm eligible for the state pension, so am not rushing to pay my voluntary NICs to make up the full 35 years.
As for the NHS, well communism and state monopolies always fail.
Other European countries have structures with more providers and insurers that seem to work.
