Thailand's "official" high season begins in October and usually lasts until mid-February to early March. Now that we're only a month away, the prospects don't look very promising to me. From what I've been reading, current tourist numbers are down by as much as 67% compared to pre-Covid numbers.
Along with that, despite Thailand's efforts, most foreign tourists currently going to Thailand are from Malaysia and India - and few of them will be frequenting the gay bars. In comparison, not a great many European and American tourists going to Thailand.
I think most of us are hoping for enough gay tourists to at least begin a good resurrection of Thailand's gay scene, but so far I see very little indication that is going to happen.
We'll see what high season brings. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I'm not holding my breath.
