This is total rubbish headlines, it moved about half a baht if that, currencies move like that all the time, in this article one minute it goes up a little, then down, then the dollar is strong then its weak, its total rubbish headlines and people read it because of the headline.

You can always check the latest exchange rates weekdays at: https://www.scb.co.th/en/personal-banki ... tml#fxrate

They do not post exchange rates Saturdays, Sundays, or when banks are closed for holidays.

Agreed. Moving half a baht one way or another is just noise.

A quick look at the GBP-JPY graph for the last 25 years shows fluctuation between 120 and 250 yen per pound (approximately), with the rates moving all the way in about 2 years at one point. Over 2:1. Now THAT'S currency exchange rate movement & that's between a couple of G7 countries.

The GBP-THB graph also seems to vary between approximately 36 and 76 this century, which is again about 2:1.

The thing to worry about is a 50% drop in value of your currency, not 1% here or there.

(Imagine the graphs. Third party picture hosting websites are only worth the effort for much more interesting pics)

The main forex trading centres in London and elsewhere are closed at the weekends, so the "market" exchange rates barely move. I often used to fly at weekends & I would check rates before leaving Heathrow, so I knew what to look for when heading to the currency changers in Bangkok.
