Chonburi Governor relaxes more Covid-19 restrictions: Tourist attractions, Zoo/animal attractions, museums, and more

By Adam Judd

7 September, 2021

The Chonburi Governor released an updated order this evening, September 7th, 2021, relaxing several more restrictions and mandated closures in the province. This includes the popular tourist city of Pattaya.

Most, if not all, of these orders, notes TPN media, were governor-level orders and not closure mandates from the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA).Officially eased/allowed to open in order 99/2564 effective September 7th, 2021, until further notice:

-All tourist attractions both government and private, free and not free, can open until 8:00 P.M. However, alcohol cannot be sold and it must not be an attraction closed by national “Dark Red” maximum control rules (like concerts, entertainment style shows, amusement parks) All social distancing rules and “Universal Prevention” rules must be in place, which applies to everything in this order. Activities over 25 people are prohibited, this applies to all of these orders.

-Banquet rooms can open until 8:00 P.M. As above, no alcohol, concerts, entertainment, or events over 25 people. Universal prevention rules apply. Air-conditioned rooms cannot have more than 50 percent capacity. Outside or non-aircon areas can have 75% capacity.

-All libraries can open until 8:00 P.M.

-Exhibition Centers, Amulet markets, convention centers, learning centers, educational science centers, science parks, science centers, art galleries, culture exhibits, museums, zoos, animal attractions, botanical gardens, historic sites, and similar items can open until 8:00 P.M. Universal prevention rules apply. Must allow 4 square meters per person in terms of capacity space at these venues.

These are effective from now, September 7th, 2021, until further notice.

Current curfew in Thailand dark red provinces stays until end of September

By Pattaya Mail

September 11, 2021

Thailand’s Public Health Ministry will ask the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) at its meeting today (Friday) to maintain the current curfew hours imposed in COVID-19 “dark red” provinces until the end of this month.

Department of Disease Control (DDC) Director-General Dr. Opas Karnkawinpong said the ministry will propose an easing of some COVID-19 restrictions, to allow nursing homes to accept elderly people who need care, among other relaxations. However, strict disease control measures will be maintained.

He said the ministry has also agreed to adjust the 9pm–4am curfew hours according to the needs of each zone, but curfew hours in “dark red” zones, including Bangkok, should be maintained for now.

Dr. Opas said another proposal is to administer 24 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines next month, noting that 10 million AstraZeneca, 8 million Pfizer and 6 million Sinovac doses are due to be delivered to Thailand. Pfizer has told the Public Health Ministry that its first batch of 2 million doses will arrive at the end of this month.

I have moved this topic off of "Announcements" because the current trend is easing restrictions, not imposing new ones.

Of course, if t some point new restrictions are imposed, I will place this topic back on "Announcements"
