By the way, there is also serious talk going on about opening legal casino(s) in Pattaya - to counteract the illegal ones that seem to be popping up all over the place.

Thai government to introduce marijuana meals and travel products to attract Thai and foreign tourists
By Nop Meechukhun
21 January 2021
The Thai Ministry of Public Health plans to introduce marijuana meals to improve local community businesses and lure Thai and foreign tourists after many parts of cannabis have been revoked from narcotic lists for medical purposes in Thailand.
Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul told the Associated Press yesterday, January 20th, that the Ministry of Public Health and Ministry of Education have developed recipes and methods to produce food, cosmetics, spa, and travel products with marijuana.
It is, according to the Minister, to uplift community enterprises that are allowed to grow the plant and improve their local products to attract Thai and foreign customers after the border’s reopening.
The marijuana courses are being introduced to meet market demand, be legal, modern, safe, and beneficial to the health and economy, according to his statement. Some marijuana-based samples shown at the conference are spicy herbal soup, basil stir-fried meat, as well as dessert menus like cookies and sorbets, and beverages.
The Thai Public Health Ministry is currently offering a training curriculum, combining the wisdom of traditional medicine with modern research for accuracy and safety, to local communities nationwide.

Three Thai nationals arrested in Bangkok for reportedly illegally producing and selling ‘cannabis cookies’
By Nop Meechukhun
24 January, 2021
Three Thai nationals were arrested in Bangkok this morning, January 24th, with 10 kilograms of processed cannabis and a handful of magic mushrooms after allegedly illegally producing cannabis cookies for sale.
The arrest followed the police investigation, revealing that there was cannabis trading through the LINE application in a group chat called “The hippy cookie”. An investigator then went undercover to lure in the purchase by ordering 5 grams of marijuana, with a price of 3,500 baht, on January 23rd at around 8:00 pm.
The sellers sent the goods by using a food delivery service, the officials, therefore, asked the delivery man to return the items. The arrest took place when a suspect came down to receive the returned items before the police began examination inside a room at a condominium in the Bangna District.
More than 13 foreign types of cannabis were discovered in a container weighing about 10.01 kilograms. Also found were 46 types of cannabis-processed food, such as chocolate, and 3 types of magic mushrooms, with a total weight of 60 grams.
One of the female suspects told the police that she was a former cookie seller and had a keen interest in cannabis. She then studied making cannabis cookies from online recipes and contacted a cannabis trader from a manufacturer in Thailand for ingredients before inviting her boyfriend and a friend to start the business.
She was responsible for cooking and contacting customers while her friend was finding ingredients and her boyfriend was delivering. They would gain about 1.2 million baht if all cookies were sold out. Currently, they had been running the illegal business for a year and received a good amount of monthly income from more than 100 regular customers.
All of them were taken to Bangna police station for legal proceedings. They were initially charged for illegally processing and distributing narcotic drugs.
