I also tried with 3 different browsers, Firefox, Edge, & Chrome. Each time after entering all the required data, the CAPTCHA code, and then clicking submit --I continue to get the message to contact Immigration.
I know why it didn't work for you. The online system requires that you submit the report within 15 working days of the due date, but at least 7 working days before the due date. Today is the 16th and you said your report is due on the 20th. That is less than 7 working days, so you were a few days too late.

That part at the beginning, where you have to scroll down and place a check mark in the "accept" box, includes "This processing time begins when the Immigration has received your completed application form within 7 working days."

My guess is most people don't bother reading the whole thing and simply didn't realize about the deadline. Also, it is not worded very well and can easily be confusing enough to make people think the rule is the exact opposite of what it actually is. Again, the rule is - within 15 working days of the due date, but more than 7 working days before the due date.

The part currently on my "I Don't Get It" list is why the deadline is 7 working days before the due date. Considering most of us have been getting our approvals within a few hours of submitting the report, why the 7 day deadline? Nevertheless, that's the rule.

Let us know what happens. You'll definitely have to pay a fine. I hope nothing worse than that.

Hmmmm, seems I misread that part thinking it said 7 days after, which is the time frame for filing the report in person and not getting fined 2,000 baht.

Being late, without regard to number of days, is a 2,000 baht fine - - in the 18 years I have lived here, I have had to pay it twice. The first time is because I didn't realize that when I did my first extension it didn't also count as reporting my address to Immigration - after all, I had to give them my address. WRONG - This is Thailand! I learned it is two separate things :o - I was about 60 days late, the fine was 2,000 baht. Before anyone says that Immigration does consider the first extension to also be a 90 day address report, that is now correct - but not so in 2003. They probably changed the policy because so many were confused as was I.

The second time was simply my fault - a few years ago I forgot to put a reminder in my calendar on the due date. When I realized it, I was about 2 weeks overdue - the fine was 2,000 baht. If I recall correctly, the Immigration website states it is 4,000 baht if you are "caught" and found to be overdue.

I'll make a calendar reminder this time with a two week alert notice instead of the usual one week I have been using.

They seem to be working overtime in Chiang Mai Immigration. I made a 90 day report at 9.00 pm last night and got the approval at 8.07 this morning.
I also have confirmation that, after entering or re-entering the country, the first 90 day report cannot be made on line. This pop up appears whn you hit the TM 47 link on the Immigration Department online services page:
The online service do NOT support if:
1. It is the first time of the 90 days notification.
2. There have been a change of new passport.
The foreigner have to make the notification in person or authorizes another person to make the notification at the immigration office located in the locality in which the foreigner have taken residence. After that, the foreigner can make the next 90 days notification by online service.

Those of you currently trying to do your 90-day address report online, at the time of this post their web site has been down nearly 3 weeks. When you try to access the web site, you're going to get the following error message:

"No backend server available for connection: timed out after 10 seconds or idempotent set to OFF or method not idempotent."

I have no idea what a backend server is. Sounds to me more like that describes a top. And idempotent? I hope that never happens to me. So far I have had no need for Viagra.

Immigration is well aware their web site is down. If you need to do your 90-day address report, you're either going to have to go to immigration or do it by mail. Your guess is as good as mine why it is taking them so long to get their web site working again. I would think any high school student could have it up and running in 5 minutes, but . . .

For anyone who needs to do a 90-day in Chiang Mai, the main Immigration office (airport) has a drive through service for applicants in person for 90 day reports. I have friends who have used it recently and they report wait times of a few minutes. You only need a completed TM47 there - no copies or other additional paperwork.

The Immigration sub office at Promenada Mall can also handle 90 day reports, but the old fashioned way - take a queue ticket and wait to be called. That is slower. I guess Promenada is mostly used by agents doing bulk 90 day reports.

Well after all this time, I think I finally managed to get the 90 day day system to work. The reporting due date is today, the system accepted the info (it didn’t yesterday), I took a screenshot just in case, and a few hours later I got a brief email that 90 day reporting was approved. But I didn’t get any kind of certificate as I thought I would. What should I print to keep in my passport as proof? Filled out form screenshot and approval email? I’d appreciate any further advice.

If you were approved, yes you did, but apparently you didn't know where to look for it. Go back to the web site. You need to click on "Check the status of your application". I hope you kept your reference number because now you need to enter it, followed by entering your passport information. That will take you to the page where your receipt is. The receipt is what you print out and put in your passport. It looks exactly like the receipt that is already in your passport.

I'm glad you finally got it. Now you know how to do it.

For everyone doing the 90-day address report online - make sure you keep the reference number. Without it, you can't get the approval printout.
