I'm not so sure he is correct about people on long-stay visas, meaning the retirement visa, when he says the need to renew has also been suspended. Where is he getting that from? I can't find anything to corroborate that. I wouldn't want anyone to find out the hard way if he is wrong.

I would want more information before I would be willing to accept that if my retirement visa were to expire during this period, the need to renew has been suspended.

I see no discussion on the video about suspending yearly visa renewals only suspension is the need for 90 day checkin.

Maybe you think I just made it up. Look starting at 52 seconds.

I looked twice and didn't see anything.

I'm sure you just didn't make this up. It has to be there somewhere. Come out, come out whereever you are...

It does say "extension of stay". Is that the same thing as a renewal of retirement visa? I wish the IO would offer some printed documentation of whatever they mean.

The only change for expats is a temporary waiver of 90 day checkin:

Looked? Didn't see anything? Try listening to what the man says. It's right there beginning at 52 seconds. I'll help you out. He says, "Long stay expats on one year visas has been suspended too and again no one in these situations needs to go to immigration . . ."

I don't know what that means to you or anyone else, but to me he is saying if your retirement visa expires during April, the need to renew is waived and you don't have to go to immigration to renew until May.

If that's not what it means to you, fine with me. If you want to trust that statement, also fine with me. But if my retirement visa was expiring during April, I would be at immigration to renew it.

According tho the Pattaya News article Undaunted posted you are absolutely correct.

They say clearly, "this suspension applies to ALL visa's".

Let's hope the 90 day reporting gets suspended until the year 2099 when we're all gone.

If the online reporting works, I have no problem about reporting. If it doesn't, then I'm with you.

Wouldn't it be nice if they finally figure out they could save everyone, including their own officers, a lot of trouble if they change the rule so that the only time you need to report is if your address changes? Anyone holding your breath . . . ?
