I won't say certain foods Westerners like to eat wouldn't disgust many Asians and cause them to say we like weird foods, but stop and think about it. Somebody had to have been the first person to have the idea of smashing open a live monkey's head and then eating the brains - probably raw. I'll take mine with whipped cream and a cherry on top . . .

There will have been times in the past when China had extreme food shortages. Including when they were experimenting with socialism and possibly in earlier times. So that might have broadened their palate.

A link that Undaunted recently provided on the main "Coronavirus" thread, provided another link to an article published by CNN Business which quotes Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the US National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases as saying It may be more than a year until a vaccine is available. At the rate that this virus is spreading exponentially (from zero to 20,000 infected people in a matter of a few weeks), half of China could be infected by the time a vaccine is available.

The U.S. has now issued a travel ban to/from China, and others countries are sure to follow.

Even with China's great wealth and resources, it's hard to imagine how they could possibly survive this without going bankrupt. Maybe they'll have to ask Hong Kong and Taiwan for help????????

Monkey brains are sometimes eaten fresh in China and spooned out of the monkey's brain while he's still alive, which is nothing short of barbaric. The brains are also proven to cause diseases in humans regardless if they're eaten raw or cooked, but, the Chinese continue eating them anyway. The fact that they continue eating food with this level of risk is fine with me, but when they start spreading the diseases they contract as a result of their barbaric eating habits to innocent bystanders in other countries, that's another story.

I can see the look in Caesar's eyes right now (Planet of the Apes)...What goes around, comes around.

Well, it would certainly be beneath any fine restaurant in China to serve them if they're not fresh . . .

And don't think it's just China. How about some of these ice cream flavors available in Japan. My favorite is the raw horse flesh flavored ice cream. I'm planning a trip to Japan just to give it a try . . .

I hear that in some countries it was normal to package minced up animals inside intestines. Sausages.

Getting back to something related to the topic, after figures have been static for a few days, there is a sudden jump in the number of cases from 19 to 25.
So plenty of opportunity to try the miracle cure.

I'm not quite sure what time the figures came out. I didn't notice anything earlier in the day.
In the evening, the proportion of people wearing masks seems to have picked up, although my sampling method is not very scientific.

Also, none of the sources I know provide accurate data about where in Thailand the cases are.
