Keep in my mind that those who closely follow Thai politics know that the guy (total jerk, I agree) is major candidate to be next PM.

If that happens, he really would be Thailand's version of Donald Trump. If he does get in, a xenophobe like him is yet another reason why I intend to stick with the 800,000 baht method for retirement visa renewal.

Re: chinese deadly coronavirus
One aspect of this disease I have not seen anywhere in the news - maybe they just don't know yet - once you get this disease and recover, can you be reinfected or are you now immune?
Re: chinese deadly coronavirus
Dr Fauci said that people who recovered are immune to the virus. An official rep of WHO said that it is not established yet. Chinese claimed that
there have been numerous cases of second infection. Do I trust Chinese? No. I watched an interview of a high level Russian official who said that not only Chinese did not share with them live virus sample but that they hide a lot of information (Even!) from them. I could give tons of other examples where Chinese officials behave in a totally outrageous way. It is very difficult to get rid of impression that they are hiding something very important.

Re: chinese deadly coronavirus
In other words, we don't know.
Re: chinese deadly coronavirus
As the majority of board members are of “senior” years and probably have underlying medical conditions the question is academic!
Re: chinese deadly coronavirus
You are right. Now I feel really stupid. Thanks for not slamming me. Apologies.
Re: chinese deadly coronavirus
Funny, that when seen flaunting his power in public, the Health Minister has never been seen wearing a face mask. Great example he's setting for the general public.
His derogatory comments about "farang" just further define his personality and level of intelligence. He'll probably get promoted.

Only probably?
Why is it, and in the USA too - especially in the USA - the worst possible people manage to get the top jobs?

Re: chinese deadly coronavirus
BTS (Sky Train) in Bangkok not the MRT (Subway) are announcing every 5 min that due to the corona virus it is mandatory to wear a mask when on the train. The announcement is only in English. You have to have your own. They are not providing masks. They do provide hand gel.
Most riders are masked now but not 100%. Security is not enforcing this, yet? I find someone taking my temperature with a forehead devise several times a day. Masks are in short supply in Bangkok.
The rumor is that NEP (Nana Entertainment Plaza) is going to close today until ? There's a poster in Bumrungrad saying, just stay home. Traffic was light this weekend in Bangkok.
At Bumrungrad all entrances there's a screening station for temperature checks and passport checks to determine if you have been out of the county for the past 14 days. I was not and was allowed entry but this German guy in line was escorted to another room under some protest for what they called additional screening. No idea what that might entail.
