Rather than this nonsense, I suggest they should try benchmarking what is done elsewhere and adopting some of the better policies.

Having 4 lanes of traffic going nowhere due to congestion is highly inefficient and makes no sense at all. Introducing a road charging scheme and encouraging people to use public transport, walking, bicycles, electrically assisted bicycles and so on would make more sense.

The revenue from the road charging could be used to encourage the alternatives.

OK, I admit a filter might have some small benefit, but to really make a difference they would need loads of them AND suitable maintenance, which is not always a strong point in Thailand. Also, I presume it is only for particulates, since dealing with nitrous oxides would require a very wasteful high temperature catalyst & be totally impractical.
