US President Donald Trump has said he would visit Thailand along with the First Lady, after hosting a party in New York that included Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his wife on September 24.
Prayut, who is in New York for United Nations meetings, had a short communication with Trump, at which he extended an invitation, said Narumon Pinyosinwat, spokesman at the Prime Minister's Office.Though no official announcement has been made about the visit, it is likely he would come during the 35th Asean Summit, to be held in Bangkok, during October 31 to November 4.

Re: Trump accepts Prayut’s invitation to visit Thailand
Maybe Trump will attend the grand opening of Eros. Maybe he will ride along with the Sunee Plaza motorbike maniacs. If he really does show up in Thailand, he will be in Bangkok. Remind me to be somewhere else that day . . .
I have a feeling he said he would come to Bangkok out of politeness, but has no intention of really setting foot here unless there is something in it for him. I could see it maybe as a stopover on his way to see his friend Putin - you know, the man who never interfered with the 2016 election and won't try to interfere with the 2020 election - but other than that why would he bother? Has he ever even mentioned Thailand in the entirety of his presidency?
But if he does come, I'm sure he will be greeted outside the embassy by his flag waving supporters - both of them . . .

1. is that president ever polite? Can he do anything else as tweets?
2. in the case he would have to organise it, most likely he'll end up in Taiwan.
But perhaps if he sees all those high-rise tower blocks, he might try to buy a few to turn them into casinos? Then sue Th as that is not so much allowed there.

The Thai government and people should be wary of a visit by President tRump, as everything he touches has problems one way or another, sooner or later.

I do so hope that he gets the welcome he deserves.

Well...that blows the "Good Guys In - Bad Guys Out" motto all to hell.

Whenever it happens, I guess some unfortunate travellers would be disrupted as his 747 lands at the most convenient airport for him.
At least that does not coincide with my next trip.

I have a modest proposal.
The ASEAN summit ends on November 4th. DT could address the closing session of that and could then make it a round world trip by going on to the UK
for a flying visit.
Allowing for the time difference, he could address both Houses of Parliament on the 5th November.
And with any luck, history would repeat itself - but with a different outcome to 1605.
