Very much anti anything that would upset social harmony, Lee Kuan Yew was not disposed to give any ground by killing the law. His Prime Minister son eventually stated the law would stay but not be enforced. In other words he agreed the law is an ass!!
Even his father mellowed in his later years - perhaps as a result of learning his grandson was gay.
