Maybe showing my age (and that I remember not so important things) but I know 18 of them for sure and somewhat guessed on two (#3 and #10). In a way, I hope I'm not right on those two....

The Pogo (#3) question really stumped me as I thought it was a modern comic strip character. Don't remember it from my youth.

Although I was referring to Pogo (or the comic strip) and not the saying, it appears I've got 19 right so far. Yet, I'd swear I've read or heard somewhere that the saying originated by somebody associated with the military way back in time. Not sure, though.

That's right, also slightly different:
On 10 September 1813, after defeating the British fleet in the Battle of Lake Erie, Oliver Hazard Perry, commander of the American fleet, dispatched one of the most famous messages in military history to Maj. Gen. William Henry Harrison.
I'm not going to cite the source just yet, or quote the message, because that would give away the quiz answer.

My personal favorite military quote was one word - "Nuts."
General Anthony Clement "Nuts" McAuliffe (July 2, 1898 – August 11, 1975) was the United States Army general who commanded the 101st Airborne Division troops defending Bastogne, Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge in World War II. He is famous for his single-word reply to a German surrender ultimatum: "Nuts!"

McAuliffe and his troops were eventually rescued by Patton's Third Army and the Germans were defeated.

My score: 19. I knew all of them except for No. 3, which could be B or E.
