The bigoted south has spoken and quite loudly. Unfortunately this is getting international press.

Seems the line is being drawn in the sand. I just hope that Obama's team has some good poll numbers to take this side. Some news pundits have speculated this is like LBJ coming out for and forcing civil rights in 1968. It did not hurt LBJ in the election but is Romney another Barry Goldwater?
North Carolina law makers pretty much know that the courts will reverse this on technical grounds but I have a sneaking suspicion that the real reason for this bill was to call Obama's hand giving Romney an issue that can erode Obama's strength in some swing states.

The acceptance of gays via the gay marriage issue appears to be strongly correlated to education as well as age.

Whoops, yes, I should have given a reference. http://www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc ... on/257017/
In some States it's required that the Elections Authority publish county by county break downs of votes. The education map was likely also produced by some State government source. The Alantic just combined the two maps. I guess you can also do regression analysis and get some interesting r2 values but few would understand that.
