What was the most significant occurrence of 2011?

Post by Gaybutton »

Now that 2012 has arrived and 2011 is history, what, in your opinion, do you think was the most significant occurrence for 2011. In my opinion, it was the death of Bin Laden.

What's your opinion?

The end of Bin Laden must be quite high on the list of good news items.

The Japanese Tsunami perhaps the worst news of the year.

The eurozone crisis - for the on-going effects are likely to be much more far-reaching in 2012.

We will have to wait for history to tell us the answer to this but my wish is that the most significant event turns out to be the "Occupy" movement. May it grow and grow until the politicians and bankers who stole - and indeed are still stealing - the world's riches are rounded up and filled with lead.

I think the tsunami in Japan, the flood in Thailand and the political changes in some Arabic countries are far more important than the death/end/killing of Bin Laden.
