For all the investment that has gone into Thai railways in recent years, can anyone identify a single material improvement in service ? [Excluding urban rail in Bangkok]

I presume the construction sector has gained enormously from all the daft projects, which is what it's all about.

I shall write about Thai train travel in another thread. Whilst I recommend it for a tourist with plenty of time, the money invested on oversized construction work is not improving services.
