Great news!

Hopefully all the boys will make it out today and they can construct steel bars blocking the entrance to Hell.

Now, will the Movie be produced in the U.S. or Thailand? I can see Ronny Howard and Steven Spielberg champing at the bit.

CNN is reporting it's now two more out today making a total of eight over two days!

Operations now suspended until tomorrow when reports say all remaining five will be evacuated.

So far so Good ..( 8 Boys out) The Thai's luckily have had much of the rest of the world rally to help. Divers from US, Great Britain, Australia and more support of all kinds from these countries. Once again ZERO help ( at least reported) from the 2nd biggest Economy in the World. Why am I not surprised?

From the BBC Monday evening...

The names of the rescued boys have not been released out of respect for the families whose sons were still inside, and they have not been reunited with their own families, the mission chief Narongsak Osottanakorn said.

Hopefully the final five will be out tomorrow safe and sound.

The families are all still up near the cave. They all agreed not to leave until all the boys and the coach are out!

And unfortunately once again when it comes to China firecat69's facts are inaccurate. China's participation in sending a specialist team as long as 10 days ago has been widely reported. Even the New York Times has reported this.
Mr. Narongsak did not say which countries the foreign divers came from, but British cave divers have played a key role in the operation, and the United States, Australia and China have all sent teams to help.

And more detail from the Straits Times
A team of Chinese cave rescue experts also arrived in Thailand in June 29 to aid in efforts to find the missing group. The six-man rescue team brought rescue equipment including underwater robot, diving equipment and three-dimension imager to the cave.

“We will have two rescuers as a group, one to hold or back up a child, another will assist them,” the leader of the rescue team Wang Yingjie told CCTV reporters.

They will train the children on using a full-face respirator and how to communicate with rescuers under the condition that they cannot speak to each other, he added.

Well once again I will have to apologize to FH for not having the news sources that he apparently has. I am stuck with ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, and CNN . Maybe they did report it and I missed it but of course my prejudices are well founded as China's contributions during many world disasters has been less then pitiful.

Maybe they are trying to shine up their very low image as a contributor to World Disasters>

CNN certainly reported it as that is where I received the information. The rest came from a fast google search.

And that's also not very true. The Chinese may not have done much for disasters in the USA (although they quickly despatched a team to Haiti) but they are now much faster off the mark when it comes to Asian disasters. As for example in the 2015 earthquakes in Nepal. This from TIME magazine -
China this weekend rushed a 62-person team to Nepal to help with the ongoing search rescue operation after Saturday’s 7.9-magnitude earthquake. They landed in Kathmandu early Sunday and set to work immediately, according to Chinese state media. The rescuers and a second group from the People’s Liberation Army are both well-equipped to help in the desperate search for survivors of a disaster that has already claimed more than 3,600 lives: Some are veterans of the devastating 2008 Sichuan earthquake, which had a 70,000 death toll, and they bring much-needed supplies.

This came after a major 2014 meeting between China and the ASEAN nations on how better to respond to natural disasters.
In 2014, China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on disaster management cooperation, pledging to provide $8.1 million to build ASEAN’s capabilities to respond to regional disasters. Working together on disaster preparedness and risk reduction was highlighted in a 2015 MOU between the U.S. and China aimed at raising the level of bilateral cooperation on development issues, and to work as partners in a third country.

But surely our focus now should be exclusively on the rescue going on near Chiang Rai and not on China's input to that magnificent effort.

There are conflicting reports about that. I've seen reports that the families are waiting near the cave. I've also seen reports that the families are in the hospital, but not yet permitted to see the boys.

There are also conflicting reports about the coach. Yesterday the reports were that he was among the first four rescued, due to his weakened condition. Today I'm seeing reports saying the coach is still in the cave.

In other words, a lot of confusion - but the one irrefutable piece of news is so far 8 of the 13 trapped in the cave have now been rescued, whether the coach is among them or not.

I'm certain we all hope tomorrow will bring good news and they not only get the remaining five boys out, but also the people who have been staying with them throughout this ordeal.

I think one of the reasons people throughout the world are so riveted to this is because the world really needs some good, happy news for a change. If the rest of the rescue is successful, then with the exception of the diver who died, this certainly is good news.

I, for one, have had my fill of Trump, North Korea, ISIS, Syria, separated families, school shootings, disastrous floods in Japan, boats sinking and killing people, trade wars, and all the other shit going on. I think we're all ready for some truly good news.
