Dengue Warning for Bangkok
Re: Dengue Warning for Bangkok
Whilst it's worth being aware of this, we have:
Bangkok Population = 8.2million
Dengue Cases 5,800 (approx 0.1% per year, if we adjust for being part way through the year)
Deaths 5
The highest infection rate was in Nong Chok, which I imagine most of us go nowhere near.

Because of a much smaller population in Pattaya I suspect the percentage is even smaller.......I was one of those in Pattaya that had dengue....trust me you don't want to have it!

I have no doubt you are correct.
However, the only modification I make to may travel plans is to be slightly more careful in applying the Citronella. It's even gone on the checklist of stuff to pack in my day bag.

Ahh, this explains why I recently noticed a tour group of Chinese tourist all lined up next to their bus getting sprayed down with a pump garden sprayer before going on a flag march. They all stood in a line with their arms up, turned around and were sprayed as some guy with a mega phone yelled instructions.
