More idiots

Post by Gaybutton »

I guess the pair who though it was a wonderful idea to drop their drawers at Thai temples, take photos of their rear ends, and then post them wasn't enough.

Now two more rejects from the intelligence gene pool decided the following was a fine way to spend an afternoon in Thailand:

American couple arrested and need to pay fine for graffiti

By Nnkhiaokam

December 22, 2017

Police arrested a young American couple at a Bangkok hotel after a viral Facebook video showed them writing graffiti on a Silom Road advertising pole and public telephone booth on Wednesday.

After police were alerted to Vorathep Charoenpornpanich’s Facebook video at 4pm on Wednesday, they conducted an investigation and found that the two were staying at a hotel on Surawong Road near Silom Road. They were arrested on Thursday and taken to the Thung Mahamek police station where they were fined Bt5,000 combined.

The two were identified as Baizer Bruce, 29, and Joness Ristin, 22. (the spelling is derived from police pronunciation of their names). Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal, deputy tourist police commissioner, told a press conference at the police station that he had reprimanded the two tourists. Surachet said the two apologised to Thailand and said they did it just for kicks.

And as the thread is entitled "More idiots", how about this for stupidity (I feel sorry for the elephant):

"A Chinese tour guide was killed by an elephant yesterday (21 December 2017) after a tourist "behaving badly" enraged an elephant at a Pattaya camp.

The 17 year old male elephant called Uthen was carrying two tourists on its back near a group of other tourists.

One of the tourists on the ground thought it was funny to pull its tail and it started charging, reported Siam Chon News.

Tour guide leader Mr He Yongjie was trying to get his clients clear of the elephant but was hit and kicked. He died at the scene and was covered in a white cloth.

One tourist was tossed off the elephant - another held on before mahout U Rungram managed to calm the elephant.

Two other people who fell in the melee were taken to hospital.

Sakda in charge of safety at the Sam Liam Thong Kham (Golden Triangle) Camp said that they tried to get the tourists on the ground to safety but there was a lot of them and in the confusion everyone ran in different directions.

The mahout blamed one of the tourists for bad behavior in pulling the tail of the elephant enraging it.

Huay Yai police are continuing their investigation. "

That is my worry. Bangkok is mercifully free of graffiti. Unless the sentence is quite severe and given a lot of publicity, how many other young idiots will try to get their "kicks" in similar manner?

I have an idea for that. We have people who think it's fun to expose their behinds. We have people who think graffiti is a fine way to spend some time defacing property that isn't theirs.

Why not tattoo the hind cheeks? Now you'll have graffiti on the exposed rears. I think a big letter M on each cheek would suffice. That way, when they bend over, it spells MOM. Turn them upside down. Now it spells WOW - and give them plenty of publicity - with photos, of course . . .

Since it was a Chinese tour guide killed, then the obvious conjecture is that it was a Chinese tourist who started the trouble. Chinese tourists have not exactly been known for appropriate behavior. What kind of a moron pulls an elephant's tail? For what reason? What's the funny part? How did this person think the elephant was going to react (assuming the person actually thought at all) ?

Apparently the term "shit for brains" takes on a whole new reality - and it cost a life. How would you like to have to be the person who has to tell the family what happened?

German arrested over tree damage in Krabi

December 27, 2017

By Sitthichai Sikawat
The Nation

A German man was detained three days after Krabi Mayor Kiratisak Pukaoluan posted on his Facebook page photos of damaged trees in a public garden that was considered a landmark of Krabi Muang district.

The mayor also offered a reward of Bt30,000 for anyone who could provide information leading to the arrest of the culprit. His post last Friday went viral and the German man, who was identified as Bernd Roehrich, 50, was detained on Monday.

Investigator Pol Lt Colonel Chartchai Nakpaksee said the suspect confessed that he destroyed palm trees and other trees at a public garden close to Krabi River out of anger when his girlfriend left him.

Chartchai said that the suspect had a record for renting a motorcycle then filling it up with water. He will be charged with destroying public property.

Let's see - this latest genius fills a rented motorbike with water. Not his own motorbike, but one he rented. Nothing said about why he did that.

When he's angry he destroys property that doesn't belong to him.

Lord knows what else he does.

Since he can't seem to figure out why his girlfriend left him, I might be able to help him with a little clue . . .

Foreign couple caught writing graffiti on Koh Lanta - locals outraged

Photos showing a young foreign couple spray painting a wall on Koh Lanta have been shared on social media.

The photos, which were shared in the Koh Lanta Info group on Sunday, were reportedly taken on Saturday Jan 13.

The photos appear to show a western man with spray can in hand ‘tagging’ a wall, while his female accomplice stands close by.

A motorcycle can also be seen in the photographs with registration number 9355.

The photos were uploaded with the caption: “These photos were published elsewhere, but I think everyone should know what these people have been doing to this lovely island. They were seen tagging yesterday on Lanta. Name and Shame guys”.

People commenting on on the post were outraged, calling the couple “idoits”, “stupid” and criticising them for “a lack of respect”.

The photos taken on Koh Lanta follow a similar incident that occurred in Bangkok in December when another foreign couple were filmed graffiting an advertising pole on Silom Road.

Footage of the incident went viral was viewed a more than 2 million times.

Police later arrested American couple at a Bangkok hotel, who identified as Bruce Baizer, 29, and Ristin, Joness 22, (names transliterated).

The pair apologised and they were fined 5,000 baht.

For visiting tourists, a fine of only Bt.5,000 is to my mind ridiculous. I can understand that the law was probably enacted to prevent Thais from defacing their own country. But tourists should be fined at least Bt.30,000 if it is to be any deterrent to future idiots.

I agree. The question in my mind is Why? For what possible reason would anyone want to go to a foreign country, buy spray paint, and then use it to deface property? What would cause people to even think of doing that?

Can't you just hear this guy talking to his girlfriend the night before? "Hey, Honey . . . I've got a great idea about how to spend the day tomorrow."

In a way, people like this could be an asset. If hostile aliens come to Earth to kidnap some humans and end up with people like them, then those aliens are likely to say, "Forget about here and let's go invade a planet somewhere else. Who needs this shit . . . ?"
