According to Undaunted's post above, it is not an Arab problem. It's a Kuwaiti problem. Hopefully this term is politically correct enough to satisfy everyone.

I think the police action on Soi VCC has forced these scumbags to confine their activity to Soi Yensabi. Has anyone complained to Miss Piggy?

At least speed bumps would do the job of stopping them from speeding through the sois, endangering people. I'd say it's virtually a given - if they hit somebody and injure him, they won't even slow down. If anything, they'll probably go even faster in hopes of getting away.

I don't have any bright ideas for stopping them from making noise nightly during the wee hours. The only thing I can think of to do is a lot of calls to the police from a lot of people, asking them to please put a stop to it.

Miss Piggy is well known among the inhabitants of Yensabi Condo.

I'm also interested to know who Miss Piggy is.

Can anyone please provide me with a proper answer?

It seems the authorities in Pattaya are very sensitive to articles about their city in the UK media. So why don't a group of you get together and write an anonymous note to the local police chief, threatening to contact the U.K. press?

It's worth a try.

If someone does, it will have to be via a PM. Naming someone as Miss Piggy would not be appropriate for this board.

You're right about Pattaya officials being sensitive to articles about their city. In the local media they're always worried about damage to Pattaya's "good image." Hasn't it occurred to them that permitting these selfish, totally inconsiderate idiots to continue harassing the entire neighborhood and endangering people is damaging to Pattaya's "good image"?

The authorities need to do whatever is necessary to put a stop to this once and for all. Obviously a raid or two stops it for a few days, and then they're right back to the same behavior.

Maybe the media should start printing a set of strong articles about what's going on, and what has been allowed to go on for years. The police don't mind raiding the bars. What's stopping them from dealing with this menace?

A constant Police presence in the worst affected areas for an extended period of time, checking papers, with fines for those speeding or without helmets, would send a clear message. Zero tolerance would also catch those with other ethnic origins, so nobody could accuse the Police of racism. It would generate revenue, make good press, but most importantly, it would reduce the impact Arabs on motorbikes have on other people’s life.

No matter how long the police stay in the soi, once they leave, things will quickly return to "normal." They can't stay there forever.

We see that with the bars all the time. A raid occurs but the police don't come back and the bars go back to business as usual.

The legal system in Thailand is in a league of its own.
