UKrayna bans gay pride parade, AZ-songcontest

Post by pong »

In Ukrayna after much ado the gayday parade was not given permission to go along. Safety of participants could not be garanteed or so. And the football championships are coming in soon now there.
In Azerbaizjan (Azeri), a Kavkas=Caucasian republic, ex CCCP=USSR, beside Georgie and Armneija, mainly Turkish speaking, they hold the European Song festival/Contest this week, as they won it last year. This is also somehow a kind of very camp gay lovechild and many gays are thus willing to go there and visit. But AZ seems to have made (newspapers believing) a special effort to ban them AMAP by even refusing to rent out hotelrooms (the scarce supply of those all taken by the govmt. to rent out at sky-hi prices for the supply of the participants and many broadcasting systems).
PS- Ukrayna also won that contest a few years ago and reacted by abandoning its CCCP-style former visum entry policy etc. But AZ on the other hand has tightened this.
