Why? If the man is in good health and of sound mind, what does his age have to do with it?

Age was also an issue when Ronald Reagan was running for president against Walter Mondale.

Aha! But Reagan was just 69 when he took office. And by the end of his term he was suffering from Alzheimers. Even though Bloomberg appears extremely healthy and would certainly be very qualified, there is a big difference between 69 and 78 in my book.

Not in mine. Tell me about it when you reach age 78.

My first preference is Elizabeth Warren. For me, Bloomberg comes in second. But I would have no problem voting for him no matter what his age is.

Some people remain sharp way beyond 78. Warren Buffet is a fine example, in his late 80s and would probably outshine me in most areas, despite being more than 30 years older.

What we don't know is how sharp a 78 year old would be 4 or 8 years down the line. The probability of some deterioration is higher. I still hope the democrats put out a perfect candidate, centrist and no weaknesses to attack.
Just to make damn sure Trump is a one term President.
Well, preferably less than one term.
