Listening to those republican reptiles yesterday even if they did get videotape evidence they'd still only vote against him because it might cost them votes. I'll tell you, in my opinion our UK politicians are corrupt to the core but they still have nothing on the slimeballs Americans elect.

Unfortunately, I agree. And every election seems to yield even worse managing to get elected.

Starting with Bill Clinton's presidency, here's a list of federal level politicians who have been convicted of crimes. I counted 40. And that doesn't include the corrupt politicians who have not been caught and includes none at the state and local level.

D next to the name means Democrat. R means Republican. Before you look at the list, three guesses which outnumbers the other . . .

Does Newt Gingrich not deserve to be added to the list of wrong-doers? He was the first House Speaker to be disciplined for an ethics violation. To get him to agree to one charge, 83 others were dropped.

The list I posted is a list of politicians actually convicted of crimes. I cannot post a list of wrong-doers because I don't think my board has enough bandwidth to hold a list of them all . . .

With reference to the list of wrong doers: so why do the US voting public still support two utterly corrupt institutions?

The only two words I can think of to answer that question are ignorance and stupidity. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of either in the USA.

So he got in then, it was obvious to me he would. I also think that anyone believing this may sway a substantial number of voters away from the republican side will be disappointed. The vote, with one exception, came down precisely on partisan lines. I'd expect the public to react likewise. The USA appears to me to be a very divided country and to be honest is not a country I'll be visiting any time soon even though I would like to. Just doesn't seem a very nice place anymore.

After Dr. Ford’s testimony last week and Kavanaugh’s desperate and partisan attacks, I was convinced he was toast. I’ll now eat humble pie. I did not believe supposedly rational people could dismiss that example of utterly dreadful non-judicial temperament and thereafter totally ignore those who came forward from his student days to confirm he did perjure himself before the Senate.

So now there are two confirmed liars on the highest court in the land. Two angry partisan men whose reputation will never be cleansed. The US Supreme Court is now a laughing stock. When US Politicians urge other countries to embrace democracy as the noblest form of government, they have just given them yet another example of everything that is wrong with it.
