Given that the CIA conducted s secret war (unsanctioned by Congress) against that forlorn country during which over a period of nine whole years it dropped a planeload of bombs - many of them cluster bombs - every eight minutes, more than it dropped in the entirety of World War II, I hope the USA will come in with a large dollop of aid.
Yet the war the CIA did run at the same time, in next-door Laos, was as much of a failure as the one the military waged in Vietnam. Unlike that epochal conflict in US history, the war in Laos was all but ignored at the time and forgotten afterwards. Forgotten, however, does not mean unimportant. The Laos war’s invisibility served to mask its enduring influence on the way America subsequently fought and lied about its conflicts.

With Trump as president? You do know what 'fat chance' means, don't you? Aid probably would come from Kim Jong Un before it would ever come from Trump. Along with that, the dam collapse hardly even gets a mention in USA news media.
