The only two I really recall keeping me glued to the seat were 9/11 and Blair's first election win. Since I left school in 1979 (the year of the witch) my adult life had only seen a Tory govt until then and as the night went on there was the added joy of the Tories being wiped off the Scottish map. Normally I'd go to bed, but not that night. The air smelled much sweeter the next day.
