Vive la France!

Post by fountainhall »

Whilst the USA has seen massive ideological rifts, intense backbiting, vile personal attacks and hugely divisive politics for some years now and British politics has reverted to a bare-fisted fight between its two long-established political parties, France has surely shown the way for the future.

A bright, new Prime Minster not yet 40 whose party is less than a year old and, based on early results, is in the process of winning by a landslide in the parliamentary elections. The old political parties in France have been quite literally swept aside in a tidal wave of change.

Where in the US and UK are the bright new leaders and parties that will appeal to the vast majority of voters and not just to minorities with massive vested interests? It's long past time for change. Let's consign the geriatric entrenched political leaders and their gazillionaire business puppet masters back to their wheelchairs!

With the second round of voting complete, the party of France's new young President has routed the traditional parties. America and other two-party countries - it can be done!
President Emmanuel Macron won a commanding majority in France's parliamentary election on Sunday, sweeping aside traditional parties and securing a powerful mandate for pro-business reforms.

The result, based on official figures and pollster projections, redraws France's political landscape, humiliating the Socialist and conservative parties that alternated in power for decades until Macron's election in May.

But I expect not the French decision to kick out the two traditional parties and vote in a completely new President and party!

I also love Paris, but more for the galleries, food and a little shopping!
