I hope Trump's "I'm a tough guy" talk actually works. Maybe it will, but I can see it backfiring just as easily. We'll know soon enough.

My feeling is if North Korea really is coming up with some sort of nuclear missile capable of striking the USA or anywhere else, if Trump is really going to make it 'not happen,' considering the nut case running the show in North Korea, Trump better do it before it becomes operational.

That same missile could also hit China, Russia, South Korea, and Japan if North Korea ever turns on them and is actually crazy enough to provoke a nuclear war.

With Ford scrapping their plans for a plant in Mexico, now the heat is on for GM. So far The Donald's magic is working, one tweet at a time.

Well, that's one rather shallow take on Trumpism ... governance by Tweeting.
My take is somewhat different: CEO's are lining up to kiss Trump's fat ass. Trump, being one of the world's classic panderers, knows it when he sees it (and thinks it's 'smart').
Cheers ... ( and just one more reason why I love living in Thailand )

The Republicans are not going to be able to control him but simply with a tweet he has controlled them.

What, are you telling me there is more?

So far, it seems to work very well for him. He makes his wishes and feelings know by tweeting, and others then suck up to them. I don't see any contradiction with your take, it's action and reaction.

Yet another consequence even before he is president:

That slice of the electorate that felt most cheated by Trump's victory is busy planning a mega protest march for the day following the inauguration ceremony. Yes, we're talking here about liberal women. But organizing such an event is never easy because so many factions exist under the same umbrella. Precisely what it hopes to accomplish is a bit muddy at the moment as special interests (i.e, equal rights, women of color rights, gay women's rights...the list goes on) compete for power.

Excerpt from today's Washington Post:

"Planning for the Jan. 21 march got off to a rocky start. Controversy initially flared over the name of the march, and whether it was inclusive enough of minorities, particularly African Americans, who have felt excluded from many mainstream feminist movements.

Organizers say plans are on track, after securing a permit from D.C. police to gather 200,000 people near the Capitol at Independence Avenue and Third Street SW on the morning after Inauguration Day."
