HPV

Post by whitedesire »

They are now saying that basically anyone who has the new HPV vaccine will benefit from it. There was a documentary on the BBC the other night and a doctor from the Margaret Pyke Centre in London said that any age group could potentially have the vaccination, even if they have been diagnoised with the HPV virus before, the vaccine will protect against re-infection. They are also pressing for males to have this vaccination.

Currently, here in the UK, only females before they become sexually active can get this vaccination free of charge, otherwise it is about £300 here in the UK.

The HPV vaccine only protects against certain HPV viruses, i.e. the most dangerous ones that can cause other things down the line.

The reason I posted this up was because if anyone feels (no matter what age, male or female), that they should get vaccinated, they could do so, knowing that according to new worldwide research (where ever that may, the doctor on this programme on BBC mentioned it, who worked for the Margaret Pyke Centre) that it can be effective for people who have already become sexually active.
