All, I am not asking this question to be facetious.
Merely to understand politics from another point of view.
From my lifelong liberal perspective, I feel the Republican party has been, in addition to being hostile to expansion of Gay Rights, on the wrong side of just about every social issue since Roosevelt and the New Deal. Against civil rights for blacks, women, against Social Security and Medicare, against health care reform, and now against taking action to forestall environmental disaster in a post-oil society about to emerge.

because they have their heads up their ass and care more about their money than anything else. The tea partiers are the same, bunch of mostly white middle-age and seniors who've got theirs now and the rest of you can just fuck off attitude.

Well, ya gotta be something, I suppose. For me, I simply can't belong to either political party in the US as they both say one thing and do another; besides, I don't agree with either party's platform. If/when they have a party that is fiscally conservative and liberal with respect to social rights, I'd consider joining it (although doubtful as I generally follow the Groucho Marx theory that I would never belong to any party that would have me as a member).

I thought everybody knew that there were no gay Republicans! Not too dissimilar to the claim by the little persian dolt that there are no gays in Iran!
