#1 TransferWise new rules

Those of you already using TransferWise probably received this notification, but in case you didn't or you are about to start with TransferWise:

TransferWise wrote:We recently updated the account holder name for your USD bank details to include TransferWise FBO before your name.

Starting January 1, 2019, we’ll reject any wire payments made to this account that don’t include the updated account holder name. We'll only reject payments with outdated account holder names sent via wire and SWIFT transfers. This change won't affect ACH payments.

In other words, if your name is John Doe, you need to notify any source sending money to you via TransferWise that your account holder name must appear as: TransferWise FBO John Doe

Note that this does not affect ACH payments. If you are receiving money via direct deposit from an American source, that's an ACH payment, so you don't have to change anything.
