I suppose I might at one time have thought of the island for retirement. I made about 10 visits in the 1980s and absolutely loved it. I returned only once in 2005 because my bf wanted so much to visit. I found it had changed so much - for the worse. Yet I have friends who visit every year and still look forward to those trips.
