Chaengwattana Government Complex. Nearest BTS station MoChit. Taxi from there around 100B. Most taxis along the road near BTS should know the correct location but a taxi from Silom may not.

If you're adventurous express bus 166 from Victory Monument.https://transitbangkok.com/lines/bangkok-bus-line/166

If you're very adventurous Commuter Train Laksi Station.

Avoid rush hours. It's actually easier to get there than to get back from there. There's a taxi stand at the main entrance but if you came in via MoChit BTS getting back to that point is difficult. Most just take a taxi all the way back to central Bangkok. The bus is easy to take if you exit the side opposite Immigration to the right. It comes every 30 min. it's air conditioned and is an express bus to Victory where you can connect to BTS.

GRAB is also a good option.

Can you extend a tourist entry visa at Suvarnabhumi? I don't know? If you can it would be easy to get there via Airport Link.

I've not had 100% success with taxis from Mor Chit.
First I say ""immigration khrap" . Only to be met with blank stares and shrugs.
Then "öh passport?".
Once somehow we went right around the perimeter of the complex-- no short distance.
Having said all that I'd still rather take a taxi than the minivans.
Maybe print out the immigration address and gate number in Thai --- and hope that he/she reads Thai

Edit -- and to reiterate Trongpai's tip ----- avoid leaving the complex close to closing time --- there will be hundreds of applicants and thousands of officials trying to get home at that time.

Better to use Google "Take me there" function and just tell and show the driver where to go. If you're one of the few hold outs who does not see the need of a smart phone then this alone might be sufficient motivation to buy one. Enter it in correctly and it will take you to the entry door for Immigration.

When the BTS extension is finished it should be easy to get to Immigration from Laksi Station. I expect they'll be shuttle buses to the government complex from the station.
