The same old canard! I'm sure that this is very often true, but to suggest that it is true in every case is just plain nonsense. My best friend here whom I have known for almost 30 years has been in his relationship with a much younger Thai for almost 16 years now. He himself is not at all short of cash, but his Thai boyfriend has more! He has run his own business since his late teens, has a factory employing over 60 people and is a multi-millionaire owning his own large house, car and a lot more besides. They are in a totally loving relationship, got married in London a few years ago and are incredibly happy.

The suggestion that all relationships between older farang and younger Thais is necessarily based on cash is just rubbish!

However, when it comes to living in Thailand I still go by the Richard Burk Philosophy. Here it is yet again:

"If you want love in Thailand, rent it."
Given that oft quoted Richard Burk statement, am I safe in assuming that to the two of you love and sex are the same thing?

I have no idea what it was to Richard, but if sex and love were the same thing to me, then wouldn't you have lost count of how many engagement rings I would have needed by now?

You asked if you are safe in assuming. SAFE in assuming? You are not safe.

Gotta agree; my bf has a good job, earns lots of money, doesn't smoke or drink, never accepts any money from me; best of the best.
