That depends on where you are. The official holiday is one thing, but different areas do their water splashing at different times, and different ways of doing the splashing.

In Pattaya sporadic water splashing usually begins on April 12 and consists of a few groups of the under five years old set with squirt guns that shoot about 3 feet. It gradually builds up daily until the "Big Day," April 19. In Pattaya it's been that way for many years and so far there has been no indication that anything is likely to change.

This year will probably be essentially the same.
