From february 2018 they will forbid Smoking at Dongtan beach for about 1km distance. Let me guess ...the beach will be much cleaner and more empty? I read in "Farang" Journal.

That's pretty ambiguous. I believe it's meant to say from the police station down to the end of the renovated area. Smoking only in the street or on the sidewalk.

It will also be true, as far as I know, in the other direction, down the whole length of Jomtien Beach.

In future it will be forbidden completely at all beaches. I do not smoke, but I believe it is ridiculous.

The new policy of smoking only in the permitted areas is working quite well.

Does this mean all beaches in Thailand? I've been a non-smoker all my life, but I agree this would be ridiculous. I have no problem with smoking areas outdoors, especially when people are relaxing on holiday on the beach.

Just to clarify, we are talking about 'cigarette' smoking?
