I'll try again --- maybe he was saying LoSo --- the name of a popular, for years, Thai pop singer.
LoSo ---- low society as opposed to hiso.

Massive apologies to everyone as I’ve now tracked down the boy and his name is “August”. He speaks no English at all and I completely misunderstood his spelling his name for me. It took two more attempts before I realised both what he was saying and his rendering of the spelling. I’ve not come across a boy named after a month before. My Thai is good enough to ask some basic information but doesn’t cope with asking more detailed stuff so I don’t know if his name is unusual.
