A shame that the movie moguls did not trust Julie Andrews with the role of Eliza, even though she had had a massive success in the stage show both in London and on Broadway. Rex Harrison wanted her, but despite not being able to sing the role, Audrey Hepburn got it. Marnie Nixon actually sang that "danced all night" number!
You call the shots the way you see them, and if you can't then you shouldn't be living in Thailand. You can never know the truth, whether it's the whole part or an embellished part.
If you are calling this a "loan" then do not expect to be paid back. If you are giving financial services in trade for certain activities, pay them after the deed, not before. Certainly not in exchange for a promise, that would make it a loan.
I personally think these boys have their priorities. Who's paid first, mamma or the landlord? When I don't off them enough, mamma is the first thing that concerns them, not payment for rent. At least, from my limited experience. But all Thai boys are different and each one has a different song and tap dance that sometimes moves us to reach for a hankie and wallet at the same time.
