I'm not sure who you're referring to as the problem mamasans but they/he/she might be now gone with the new ownership, what they are calling a renovation. This change over (perhaps a more accurate word) I was told happen around 5 months ago.

Problem mamasans never go away they just move to another bar. Case in point, one at Classic was fired after 15 years and is now at Hotmale annoying customers. The fat one that annoyed at Fresh Boys is now at Classic.

Fresh Boys has this good looking mamasan that told me he was Vietnamese. He saw me tipping the big cock show boys and said what about me? I said jokingly take out your cock and I'll see. He got hard and flopped it on my lap, wow. Now there's a mamasan that actually deserved a tip.

The little fat mamasan is a horror she has been around for a decade or more thankfully she now sits out in the street. I have come across many mooks but not here even though most of the boys are streety with a few fems added to the mix for those that like that sort, I am surprised that during my infrequent visits I never see the same boys. The mamasan I refer to was there 6 weeks ago...my last visit.

Trongpai, the two mamasans I refer to at Super A were there back in April. So I don't know when the 'renovation" took place.

Yes we are. See the title of the thread.
As I pointed out, there is at least one connection with the upstairs Super A --- the long haired boy from upstairs for years, now the doorman downstairs.

As we are still speaking of Super A I have wonderfull memories of it when it was upstairs then were the bar is now downstairs for a brief time it was a massage place then shortly after they closed the massage and closed the upstairs bar and opened it downstairs where the massage place had been, as for recent renovations in the downstairs since it opened I have no recollection.

What I meant was, does Super Lex Matsuda (or whatever it was called) from last century have any connection with today's bar?

I do remember several guys from upstairs when they moved to their present location, but before that, it was a totally different bar from what I can recall.

Maybe those yucky sofas date from 1991. And they certainly haven't been cleaned in a while, if ever!

I don't think so a447 because, as I remember it, the upstairs Super A and Super Lex co-existed and they were completely different animals. Super Lex was 'unsleazy' (if there is such a word).
For the first year when Super A moved downstairs they has a plastic bucket just inside the door to catch drips from the aircon and for unsuspecting farang to trip over. I wonder if it's still there?
The long haired boy (Top) and the couches follow them everywhere.

I bumped into Charlie from Charlies Hideaway last week in Balcony. His other claim to fame was a bit part in 'Good Morning Vietnam.'
He was going on at length (as Charlie can) about the history of the Silom and Suriwong gay bars.
His own bar was long and narrow (next to DJ) with video monitors at each end (an innovation in those days) one playing gay porno and the other classical music concerts.
O.K. I'll stop now.

Super A and Super Lex were totally different. No connection.

In addition to the massage place, there have been two other bars in or next door to the present Super A downstairs location over the last 15 years. One had sofas and seating more like a train. I don't recall a stage but the boys were always willing to show their wares for a drink and one had a humungous appendage. That bar lasted little more than a year. After it closed, there soon opened another quite different and bigger bar. There was a small stage on the right just inside the door and the bar was by the right wall. Seating was theatre-style with most customers sitting in the back rows where again there was a fair amount of touchy freely going on. A couple of lady boys there were always trying to entertain customers. I just cannot remember the name of either bar, but like Super A they had boys touting the bar on the corner where Solid used to be.

There was another go go on the left side at the end of the Soi up a flight of stairs across from D.J. named Top Man, a place I spent the end of many an evening waiting to take a long haired Esarn boy named Plah off...The mamasan there was a very tall and pleasant ladyboy.

What a difference between then and now! Oh well........

I think you're referring to 'Nice Boys' but confusingly also referred to as 'Night Boys'. It was in a closed plumbing supply house with some of the bath displays still on the premise. The other one was perhaps 'Khun Sweet Cigar', just past the present 'Golden Cock'. 'Nice/Night Boys" was resurrected for short time on the alley that runs parallel to the present soi Twilight.

The 'Top Man' if memory serves me correctly was on Silom, up a fight of stairs. Quite large with a big stage but then fell into decline. Last time I went around 2000 it just had a few boys. It was over by Silom soi 2 not soi 6.

Some of the old publications/sites like Dreaded Ned did not list the bars in the soi 6 vicinity. Then Spartacus ran into controversy over the YC code for some bars from some western governments.
