FOODLAND at Royal Garden Shopping Mall

Post by Dale1 »

This note does not contain much information ... anybody who has more, please post it ... I was in a song taew this morning on Pattaya Beach Road passing Royal Garden Shopping Mall .... I noted large signage advising of the OPENING SOON of a FOODLAND SUPER MARKET ... also well lit up on their large flashing LED sign. Sorry, that is all I know.

So far, their idea of 'soon' is a little different from mine, considering how long we've been not only waiting for the Thepprasit location to open, but for construction to even begin.

With all the hype about new Foodlands coming, meanwhile the only location open in Pattaya is their original location on Pattaya Klang.

If they're going to open in Royal Garden, maybe it won't take so long before they do.

In all fairness there was never any sign saying "coming" or "coming soon" or anything like that on Thepprasit. There was only a Foodland sign erected on an empty lot. I think we all assumed there might be a supermarket there in the future, but for the moment it appears to be only a billboard.

The Foodland at Royal Garden and Terminal 21 will open before the Thepprasit location.

Yes there was. I'm surprised you don't remember it. It was huge. It was there long before the Foodland sign was erected. That's how we knew a Foodland was supposed to be built there. It has long since disappeared. Now the only thing there is the Foodland sign and a vacant lot.

Yes, there was a "coming soon" sign on Thepprasit for many months before the permanent sign was erected.
I posted this pic in May 2014.

I went to look at the site where the Royal Garden Plaza Foodland will be and it will not be soon. It is a huge space and they have only just begun work on it.
