"Purchased in advance.
·         Made out to “American Embassy Bangkok”

I ask this tongue-in-check, I understand that there has been a recent change. I heard that the bank draft should now be made payable to "Trump Enterprises." True?

Travelerjim, you have confused me. So the fee now for notary services ($50 USD) is not 1,800 baht as ACS - US Embassy posted, but 1,850 baht?
Is this correct?

Does that matter? The embassy has a specific fee amount in baht, and that doesn't change no matter what the exchange rate is. Most of us will be going mainly to get the proof-of-income statement. That's their notary fee. 1800 baht.

Since if you're getting that at their outreach you have to pay with a bank draft, the only time the exchange rate has anything to do with it is when you're paying the bank for the bank draft.

If you're getting it at the embassy, rather than the outreach, the fee is still 1800 baht. At the embassy you have the option of paying with baht, paying with dollars, or paying with a bank draft, but no matter what the exchange rate is, the fee is still 1800 baht.

Travelerjim, in his eagerness to retain you as a staunch supporter, perhaps if you contact President Trump he will be willing to agree to a request from you to order the State Department to permit cash payments at the outreaches again . . .

TJ, by the way, thanks for the clarification on the baht exchange rate. I was afraid someone was spreading FAKE NEWS.

As of March 1 the rate has been lowered to 36 Baht/USD. I can only assume that will be the rate used at Out Reach on March 3 in Pattaya?

It won't matter. They've published their fees. The Outreach fees are a fixed amount and won't change. The only time the exchange rate enters into it will be when you pay the bank for the bank draft.

Exactly, $50 USD @ 36 TB/USD = 1800 Baht.
